Characteristics: Angelica Root, Angelica archangelica, has a long history of culinary, medical and symbolic uses. The oil is collected by steam distillation from the dried root. It is mobile with slight viscosity similar to a fixed oil like grapeseed. The color is typically pale yellow.
It grows best in temperate European states especially in Central Europe and areas with mild summers.
It is diluted in carriers for end uses like skin issues and detoxification. It is used for colds, coughs, PMS and hormonal issues.
It is a tall and tough plant related to parsley. Ancients believed it had special, even mystical, healing powers.
Angelica blends nicely with other sharp herbal oils like Lavender, Oregano and Basil.
