Characteristics: Carrot Seed, Daucus carota – the tiny seed of the common cultivated plant is distilled to produce a pale mobile liquid presenting an earthy, woody and slightly fruity sweet herbal scent. The aroma of the carrot seed reminds one of carrots and soups. It is a scent associated with food. The oil is rich in monoterpenes but has significant ester content.
Aroma therapy use varies but it can be used with a carrier for skin rejuvenation. It is considered one of the more gentle essential oils. Published aroma therapy practitioners recommend carrot seed preparations for mature skin.
